  • Release on:2015-04-10

Networking/communication device maker SerComm has been developing FDD LTE and TD-LTE Small Cell devices for several years and has begun to ship TD-LTE solutions to China Mobile. SerComm expects shipments of Small Cell devices to significantly increase in 2016, according to company president and CEO James Wang.

Small Cell devices can offload mobile Internet traffic and increase indoor coverage for 4G networks, Wang said. China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile are deploying fiber-optic fixed-line broadband networks, creating large potential demand for Small Cell devices in China, Wang indicated.

In the Taiwan market, SerComm has tested 4G Small Cell devices with two telecom carriers, Wang said.

SerComm posted consolidated revenues of NT$2.355 billion (US$75 million) for March, hitting a monthly record, and NT$6.346 billion for January-March, its second-highest quarterly figure on record.
